Morgan Smith

Morgan earned his degree from Columbia College, Columbia University as well as Columbia University and the Mannes College of Music. In New York City he was chosen to be the Seattle Opera "young artist" (1999-2000). He made his professional debut at Seattle Opera in 2001 in Billy Budd. Smith, an established Seattle favorite, has performed in more than 12 productions, including Don Giovanni in the title character, Silvio and I Pagliacci in I Pagliacci as well Riccardo from I Puritani. He also appeared as Peter Niles, in Mourning Is Now an Electra. Smith regularly performs on concert stages. Smith was the first to make the Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion and additionally performed with his orchestra, the San Antonio Symphony at the North American premiere for Detlef Glanert's orchestral interpretation of Brahms popular cycle, Vier Praludien Und Ernste Gesange. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony is also on the program, along with the Requiems written by Brahms Faure Mozart Durufle the Masses C Minor Mozart Vaughan Williams and Bach's B Minor Mass.
