After a stint in the Boston club circuit under the tutelage of their first manager Frank Connelly, the band began working together with New York managers Steve Leber and David Krebs. The band signed a record deal in 1972 and released their eponymous debut album in 1973. It was followed by Get Your Wings. Toys in the Attic. Rocks. And Draw the Line. These albums contributed to Aerosmith gain international recognition. The albums featured legendary hits like "Dream On", "Walk This Way", and "Sweet Emotion". Aerosmith's early five albums were all multi-platinum. Toys in the Attic and Rocks have been considered as some of the best hard rock albums of all time. But, as the decade wore on, the fast-paced life of touring, recording, living in a house, and using drugs took its toll on the group. Because of their famed use of stimulants and heroin, Tyler and Perry were often referred to as the Toxic Twins. Aerosmith Behind the Music has numerous videos that demonstrate their friendship. Tyler seemed more committed to Aerosmith than Perry and had a resentment of Perry for his indifferent attitude. He also envied Perry's preference for females throughout his life. Aerosmith was declining during the year 1980 due to tensions between Perry and Tyler.
